I own this game but haven't actually played it yet. It was a present from my parents, but I had just bought Twilight Imperium 3rd Edition. That got played first, and so A&Ais collecting dust on my bookshelf.
Bought from a friend who thought it was lacking in theme. It is, or rather the theme and the mechanics have very little to do with each other, but once you accept that this is a purely tactical/strategic game (like chess) it is quite good.
A game that I have fond memories of from highschool. Once again, bought at an import game shop for about twice the retail price.
A great, simple game for when you want to plow off some steam, or just want to pound the hell out of your friends. Plus, the spooky images of that creepy little girl and the text on the cards is just great.
Bought from a friend who didn't like it all that much. As a fan of the RTS computer game I was highly skeptical of this game at first, but it has become one of my favorites. Once you've mastered how to set the game up, it can be played incredibly quickly and is highly enjoyable even with 2 players.
My friends don't seem to like it though, as they all complain that it ends too quickly; ie. just when they get their Carriers and Ultralisks on the board. I can see where they are coming from, but feel that this is simply part of the game that you have to accept.
