Played again (see original comments below). The English version clears up a lot of the problems I had with this game the first time around. I like it much better. I still think that there's way too much going on for a casual gamer... but it's a good game. ---Design feels inelegant and needlessly complex. To be fair, playing with a "mostly" translated game made it more difficult overall but it just felt like there were too many things going on at once.
Pretty fun version of Blokus. It's just a wee bit harder to wrap your head around how your pieces fit but that makes it possible to periodically surprise your opponents by placing a piece in an unexpected location.
This is a fun game that I would rate higher if it didn't have so many situations where the cards were unclear. The game needs to be rewritten by somebody who has worked on CCGs and understands the complex interactions of hundreds (or thousands) of cards.
