Stone Age sans dice & plus Ninjas! Gambattei! Very high fun factor - raiding enemy strongholds, fighting deadly warriors, executing killer kungfu moves, stealing treasures, bribing envoys, etc etc...what's not to like?

It does double duty as both a conversation piece & a game in & of itself, plus it's so cool & OOP, you just can't help putting out your hand to touch & move the rings around a bit, just to upset the equilibrium!

The most fun you can legally get rolling dice...oh wait, there's Manila too. As a bonus, you can also get in the "baby shack" & shag your meeples...

Heard & read good things about it... although the length & complexity will deter all but the most dedicated gaming connoisseurs (a bit like eating fugu?) Provisional rating based upon similar CDGs I have played

It's a kickstarter, and on the surface appears to be a social/party game... but underlying this cutie is a medium weight euro that's actually consistent with its theme, and also emphasizes the high interaction so often absent in heavier euros, plus the cooperative/competitive element that makes a certain type of game so fun. Many many opportunities, for working together or alone, piggybacking, screwage, and putting on bets. In fact, the betting aspect reminds me of Manila & Stone Age, only here there is (surprise!) no dice! Although, coming from Dice Hate Me games, it should be no surprise. Reading your opponents/ collaborators/ friends well is at the heart of this game, and so is calculating your odds rationally & playing a good poker game.

Like Noah, I collect games by ""best of breed". Discovered this gem (pun intended, haha) yesterday night. This goes to the top of my Auction/Bidding game list, displacing games like Modern Art et al, which are showing their age. Besides the very clever half open/half hidden bidding mechanics for almost everything, it also has a lot more going on, and all of those mesh beautifully for a game with strategic depth, yet plays well within an hour. The minor complaints of tacked-on-theme, moldy bits, and hence my nickname of "Yeast" for that unpronounceable title, do not detract from my lofty rating.
