Great game, Probably the one that got me hooked on gaming over the last few years. the only reason it hasn't been brought out lately is the new additions I picked up over the last few months, mainly Powergrid.
I bought this quite a while ago, and was my first introduction, for my self and my group, to non-risk/ A+A games. not very good, too easy to win if some one got slightly ahead. played about three times and got relegated to the shelf. won't be playing it, and I haven't been asked about it.
current rating is on solo play only. still learning it. I think that the rating will go up, as some of the mechanisms are very cool. waiting to teach it and see how that goes before I make my final rating
Great game, I introduced this to our gaming group, and was an immediate success. learning curve is pretty good, but the instructions left something to be desired. The uncertainty of every battle makes for great suspense. One good battle in a territory filled with structures can bring a last place player up to the front and can devastate a first place position.
lots of fun from what I remember. I wanted it because it looked like the dark future game I saw in White Dwarf Magazines, If I have my timeline right. Might be backwards, but I sooo wanted to play Dark Future, just too young and too little allowance. this was a fun alternative though.
I had this rated as a 9. But after multiple plays I have had to reconsider it. I still enjoy the game, but it is a bit like multi player solitaire. I enjoy it but t's not currently high on my list at the moment for replay.
just got his and gave it a spin once. a few hiccups with the rules, nothing too big. Bought it when my first choice Thurn and Taxis was unavailable, great looking, good play, lots of chance taking with route selection, passengers are interesting. The group wasn't overly plussed with it after first run, but are willing to give it another go. update: introduced this one to another group, and they really got into it. Much more enjoyable. there is a definite strategy
Love this game despite a few issues. Largest of those is the Elevation/LoS fogginess. the other was the components were not correct when I got them, but the great staff at FFG is correcting that as we speak. This is now moved up into a 9 for me, I loved playing it, talking about it afterwards, and thinking about the next game as soon as we're done. A great game that is, in my non-wargamer mind, a great intro to Wargames tactical thinking.
the few full games that we've played of ToI have moved this expansion into one of the games I want. My only issue is our group more often than not is 5 players for our weekly game. one too many, the second group is more elastic but not as avail. So I want it, but will it get use?
Played a couple of times, enjoyable but not striking me as great. Only used the basic rules, no optionals yet. My try some of the scenarios, and see if that helps. The altitude seems to much work to bother with, and combining with the fuel option, I don't know how a game is ever finished with decisive kills. Will have to play it a bit more to see what happens.
