Enjoyable card game with an educational twist. My 8yo handles in fine on her own. the 6yo has to play with an adult teammate (mommy). We have fun playing it, and the kids seem to get quicker at locating states each time. bonus.

A silly and fun game of secret identity and trying to kill off those who you think are your opponents so you can claim their share of the inheritance. The really fun part is how you get to kill them off; crush them under the suit of armor, push them in the fireplace or down the stairs, drop a steel piggy bank on their head, etc. Fun for the whole family!

An enjoyable abstract. very easy to teach to anyone. move 1,2, or 3 marbles at a time. push 1 or 2 of your opponents marbles at a time. If you push any off the board they're out of play. Last with marbles left, wins.

Wonderful mixture of mechanics. gather treasure in the caves, buy abilities in the market, and collect artifacts in the palace. For some reason we have never used the magic in the game as the basic version works really well with mixed ages including young ones.

Our group really enjoys this one. Even my youngest daughter at 7 is easily able to play this game. (If fact she won the very first game we ever played) It's light enough to teach non/new gamers and has enough bite so regular gamers will enjoy it.

Great light fare for getting a game night started with a group of at least 5. 4 works but the more the merrier. This also great because people can join in and drop out a needed and it doesnt mess up the game. Also works well for broad spectrum of ages together.

A very enjoyable push your luck game. Luck of the dice randomness coupled with solid decision making makes for a fun game. Do you set up good future growth spots and hope no-one steals them? Do you jump into that new development for some quick points? Do you cause an area to be reset and clear opponents point opportunities? A fun family game with a good mix of interaction and a smidge of "take that".

A good card game with a fun theme fit. Fairly easy to teach but the various placement rules can be confusing for new folks. I recommend open hand play for several rounds as a teach aid. It doesn't really affect the fun of the game. The game also works well to help kids learn to evaluate multiple choices and weigh out their results in a theme and game that they enjoy.

The artwork is classic Doris. Though we do have discussions each play as to what exactly the meeples are. most agree dinosaurs but some interesting things have been spotted by folks when turning them.

Another variation on the Carcassonne engine. But it's a good variation. The theme is lightly religious as it's only representative of a biblical area and time. There is no evangelizing in the game. It adds a few new mechanics (at least to us) like the ark moving along and scoring passersby points.

A very good light/medium game. The artwork and theme work well though the game mechanics could be wrapped into many themes. If really feels like a stock market kind of game. On your turn to you change the values to help yourself or hurt your opponents? Invest in workers (grow your investment in a particular "stock" by placing them strategically? Or "sell" your stock when the market is good for more VP? The placement of workers to try to apply them to as many valuable buildings as possible makes for a little AP nail-biting. Highly recommended and easy to teach.

Great game! The theme is dear to my heart so added points for that. Also co-op without a dm gets more bonus from us. It doesn't really stay true to the mythos but just the names, places, items, etc pull me right in. Beautiful artwork and components. first time learning is a bit of a task but with aids here on BGG can be done reasonably. A billion pieces! I greatly recommend a pile of little "snack cups" for all the tokens, as well as the set of card boxes that can be "print and taped" here. Game needs a lot of room and quite a bit of time. We spread it over several evenings and all is well. Looking forward to the expansions.

I really really really wanna love this game more! I am a horror fanatic! If the rules weren't so confusing/vague so often this would be an 8 for me. If it didn't have so many boring round chits it would be a 9. After many more plays the game has definitely moved up in rank for us. With some house rules and a group with no hardcore rules lawyers, we have had a lot of fun with this. The 2 player variant works very well.

Fun game but holy moley it can drag out. First game with 4 players was at almost 5 hours and I was at $5880 in earning. There were 3 players left. Myself with the entire southern half of New York, another player with the entire northern half of New York, and the third player with Jersey. The northern player and I decided to take out the Jersey player and then split New York in a partnership agreement to call it a night.

I really like the theme and the combat portion works smoothly after a round or 2. As is usual with these type of games, the count and math process at the end of each players turn is a bit tedious but it's all part of it... The bits could have been a bit smaller to make better use of the HUGE map and save some crowding. Later in the game we took to designating an area off board for players to place all there newly bought resources until moving them next round due to space constraint.

The feeding of the "most corrupt" to the croc may be a bit harsh on a younger one. Build up your materials by collecting cards in the market. Use those materials (possibly combined with shady stuff) to build parts of the palace and collect money. Using shady materials and folks to help will get things built faster, but may cause your corruption to rise higher then your opponents. Recommend highly!

Rating would have been higher had we been able to play the game "out of the box". Sadly, we bought a new sealed copy from Tanga. when opening it for the first time to play we found the clay was dried out. We grabbed some playdoh from the kids room but it didn't work too well. The game has a very enjoyable system to it but the poor materials made it unplayable. I have heard there may be a remedy to this issue in the pipeline somewhere. I hope so.

Update: The designer came through with replacement clay that seems to work well. Colors didn't quite match but he sent cards to cover that as well. great support. And my rating went up because the game is better with good clay!

I had the chance to demo this at Recon 2011 and meet the designer Paul Miller. The game is a lot of fun and Paul is a great guy who truly loves his creation. A LOT of time was spent on all aspects of this game, and it shows. It's an eye-catching game. It has borrowed just enough from chess/checkers to give it some familiarity. The familiarity ends there though. The depth of strategy that develops from the unique movement abilities of the different pieces is quite good. The quality of the pieces is above most game components. The versatility of using the board and components for standard chess and checkers is a plus.

I liked it so much I decided to stock it in our store right there. Come on by and demo it any time.

A silly family game of putting funny captions on pictures with bubbles. Cards are drawn ahead of time that give a theme. The rating of this game is when playing with kids in the 8-12 age group. The game is well made and a fun family experience. A light Settlers of Catan feel of building resources and trading them in to buy animal exhibits. First to 4 exhibits wins. Avoid stormy days and benefit from sunny days.

It's a roll and move at heart but there is so much more good stuff added on that it doesn't seem to matter.

Without kids I'd rate it about 6.

First person to have 5 deaths in their dungeon wins. Who owns what dungeon is secret. You can swap dungeons by buying a new deed.

Great family and party fun. Very easy to teach. The game is very lavishly over produced! It could just as easily be a $12 card based game. But since I got it in trade, it was well worth it. The junior expansion works well if you have younger ones than say 10 around.

A category is read from the card and everyone has to try to come up with answers that someone else also came up with. Match anyone else and it's good. no one matches your answer? take a wood block. first person to collect predetermined number of blocks ends the game. fewest blocks win.

fun game with the kids. everyone are cats trying to make their way around the dogs fence with out being chased by the dog. the dog is battery powered. when the dice roll a certain way, push his button. he races around the yard for about 5 seconds bumping into the fence. if your cat happens to be on a board he rams, you get launched and go back. There is also a croc hunter version of this game.

A very enjoyable, thematic game. Though it is definately misnamed. it should be the Flight of Dracula. I never played the original so I cant compare but there is no fury to dracula in this game. quite a tense struggle for dracula to stay out of trouble with the hunters. Playing as dracula definately has a "whole world out to get me" feel to it. Though I did win once as dracula by taking mina out in a major battle.

Only ever played this with 2 players. Not sure if my rate will change up or down with more as the board would get a lot more chaotic with more players. A solid mixture of luck (tile draw), strategy (placement chosen from 3 tiles), and point maximizing yourself (growing colonies) or hurting your opponent (causing wars and migrations).

We love this one. It's basically a "take that" game but somehow the theme and brain mechanics make it a blast. It works well for even our 8yo though some of the artwork and text may be a little crass for some. "Give me the brain" has become a standard phrase in our house when someone has to do something they don't really want to do.

Interesting thing also is that it definately falls into the "take that" genre yet you play happy stuff to hurt your opponents and bad stuff to help yourself. cool! woulda been a solid 8+ if the text wasnt so hard to read.

If the sailer changes the tavern and sails immediately you can get stuck.

We have a LOT of fun with this one and everyone we have taught the game has enjoyed it. The basis of the game is the players are treasure divers in Key Largo. A hurricane is coming and so you only have about 9 days to earn as much money as you can. There are different activities you can do each day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon. The amounts earned when selling, and the amount cost when buying are often dependent on how many people choose the same activity. hire divers, equip divers, dive wrecks for treasure, sell treasure, visit the bar and buy drinks for clues from old captains, and take tourists dolphin watching. Very easy to just get the game started and "teach as you go".

Great party game! even works ok for 2. You gotta have the right mindset and group of players or it will flop. Approach it for fun and sillyness. If you dont think you can handle having a card held in the crook of your arm, hands held only in fists, your tongue stuck out continuously, if front of friends or family (while they are also doing goofy stuff) then you may not enjoy the game. We laugh. A lot!

Echo echo... We love this game! The whole thing comes together very well for a great zombie bashing (or human munching) time by all who have played. After a handful of games I can say this one will definitely be hitting the table many times for years to come. This game does not replace TWC Zombies!!! for us, it does not replace Betrayal at House on the Hill for us, it also does not replace Zombie Plague for us, but it does seem to merge very well the different aspects of those games that we really seem to love! I like the expandability, the scenario mechanic, the artwork (I'm a b-movie junkie too), the game flow and timeframe designed into the game.

The only real gripe I have is with the cards. I like the art and all, but those suckers were almost glued together. Luckily I had read on here about slightly flexing and twisting the deck and they all seemed to come apart ok. We had a couple in the zombie deck that the plastic delaminated a little on (no biggie) and the top card of one of the decks was actually not sitting square on the stack when they were shrink wrapped so it got creased over the edge a bit. I think the heat from that evil shrink wrap is what caused the plastic coated cards to stick together like that.

After getting into the scenarios more and seeing how the support for the game goes I will re-visit this rating and see if it goes up or down a point. You see, it can only go as high as a 10, which with good support and growth of the game from the publisher, it should. If it doesn't get supported and goes stale it still deserves no lower than an 8 from us for what it offers as is.

A very enjoyable light card game. I really enjoy the mechanics and the theme is well done. Building up cows to make them more valuable seemed to fit for us. Though there is often some sucky circumstances where you are losing good cows out of your control.

either a 2 player game or a 2 teams of 2 game. players compete to build either rivers or trails. block each other with strategic tile placement. a whimsical fantasy theme that is well presented in the artwork. can cause a bit of AP in younger kids or folks prone to sweat placement decisions.

A great addition to the series. The "legendary" equipment is powerful and the quests are tough but you're playing as a higher level character anyway so....

The master villain goddess is pretty much impossible to beat. The usual excellent art is present as well. I love just looking at these cards.

Decent kids card game. roll the dice and match the dice color to the colored item on the card. now match that item to the same item on your card. call out first and lay down the card. you win the round.

I can't help it. I know it's a simple kids reflex game. I admit I was first made aware of this one due to silly discussion on the geek. found a copy out of curiousity. WHAT A BLAST! we sit and play round after round of this game laughing like maniacs! Simple fun for all ages.

If you're a grumpy stuffed-shirt forget it.

I really like this game! I think it's because of the co-op nature. I get enough cutthroat at work. sometimes I like to just have fun with the people I'm playing with and no-one has to worry about getting beat up.

A fun little filler game. Easy to teach and the kids like it though the decisions were a little hard for the 6yo because she always wants to help everybody else and refused to do anything against anyone else. So she wont place the nazgul on anyone ... she's so cute! :-)

A themed version of amazing labyrinth. The theme doesn't really add anything to the game at all except graphics. I have noticed trouble with my copy being difficult to slide the rows and columns as either the tiles are slightly large or the board pieces are too close. As I am a Tolkien head I am glad to have it in my collection but wouldn't recommend it for someone to go out of their way to get if they dont care for the genre.

Sadly, this game gets a bum rap on the BGG usually at no fault of it's own. It ended up being a bit of a mystery item on Tanga and many folks got stuck with multiple copies of it in german. no big deal since it's components are language independant and there's a great english manual on the geek.

Anyway, it's a fun light game about stunt plane flying though in honesty the theme could have been about lots of things. But it works. build stunt routines then try to fly them. score for successes. high score wins. A lot of dice rolling and luck in this game so if you dont like da bones back away.

ehh. I love dwarves and treasure mining but this one just seemed to fall flat for my wife and I. Could be due to the poor component quality and the subsequent request for replacement parts which came defective as well. third set was fine. May be more fun with more players. Will re-evaluate then.

A fun memory race game. Try to remember which witches are yours. Try to get them to their finish line first. It is suprisingly difficult to keep track of which are which with 4 players. Roll the die and move a witch forward. Roll a 6 and you can, instead of moving, secretly look at any one witch color. Land on another witch (by exact count) and that witch gets revealed to all players and moves back 7. You will find yourself hurting yourself and helping others. My youngest is actually quite adept at getting her own pieces bounced backwards so she can then move them forward into her finish line.

For some reason this isn't as enjoyable for us as I thought it would be. Feels a bit dry. Not a bad game in any sense, just not really a spooky feel for us. the theme could have been easily something of a different genre since it is mainly a voting game. It will definately get played some more and maybe the rating will change with time.

A great Zombies!!! spin-off. In fact I think I like it better. At least for 2 players. I didn't really enjoy zombies for 2. but they streamlined this somewhat. The only complaint I have is the "grey men" life tokens. They add confusion tot he board. I replaced with red glass stones.
