I think this game might turn out to be Buffalo Games first hit here on the Geek. It a solid filler that is in the same vein as Apples to Apples. The goofy paddles you write your answers on are fun. We played twice, once with the die and once without it. (I kinda enjoyed the game a little more without the die.)
It really has everything you want in a party game. It's light, quick and the silly catagories invite people to laugh to and crack jokes. I've been rooting for my hometown's only game company to make an good one for a while and think Likewise might finally be it.
This was a surprise gift that I got for my birthday. Only played once but I thought it was pretty good. Reminded me a little of Alhambra. It seemed more "girlie" reading the rules than it actually is. (No way I'm wearing the Queen's necklace, however. :-) )
Usually, I hate games where you read the cards and do what they tell you to do. This one, I liked. It's a little like Bang!. Worrying about gold, how drunk you are and your health makes for a tense game.
It's simple and fun, you place a tile and then take four actions. The tiles build the dungeon and introduce the ghosts and treasure locations. The actions are the standard stuff: open a locked door, pick up a treasure, fight a ghost, etc. There is enough new stuff going on in the game to make it interesting. The bits are great. (wooden tiles) Save your fireballs for the fat ghosts!
I've played it twice now and I love it. It's Carcassonne meets Dungeon Crawl. Drags slightly near the end but it's still enjoyable.
