Despite so many aliens, games... eventually start feeling the same. Which is ironic, considering the main point of CE is that it should never feel the same. Downtime starts getting too high once you add a sixth player, and is nigh-unbearable with seven.

Still good for a bit of fun once in a while.

More Cosmic. New aliens are always nice, defender reward deck feels a bit overpowered.

Good for about 4-5 hours of fun, if you have that amount of time to spare in the first place. More fun for the heroes than the Overlord, but hopefully you have an experienced group of players who can rotate Overlord duty with you. Quests are frequently imbalanced, some seem to be impossible unless you've played before and know where everything is, others are way too forgiving.

House rules are your friend for this game.

Quests are frequently imbalanced requiring house rule fixes - although that could be said for a lot of other stuff in Descent. Treachery is cool, but some of the other additions (e.g. power potions, some of the new treasures) seem a bit unnecessary. Still a solid addition, should be added into the base game.

Poor map and house cards makes the premise of the game largely a lie; diplomacy, treachery and intrigue are in fact rather limited, and skilled order placement wins the day.

Pretty decent filler.

Quick auction game, I like the idea of the markets having different closing conditions as well as the balance between characters and taking two Gifts.

Not a fan of the dice randomly screwing up some markets in a game like this. Possible to get a runaway leader in which case the game loses all tension.

I think this is deceptively simple, but it just doesn't do anything to try and win you over, does it?

Still, for its price, why not.

Need more plays to confirm, but looks like a fantastic strategy game, lots of depth, together with the bling and production quality you find from FFG.

Edit: feel no desire to play for some reason... it's well-designed but maybe a little imbalanced?
