Simple to explain but tough to master; there's too many different things going on! Liked it a lot when I first played it my wife. I even ended up winning an Alhambra tournament held at my FLGS.

Very thematic, engaging and fun. It's too long, but that seems to be a problem with all these RPGish boardgames, so I'm not sure how that could be improved. I don't think I'd play this with more than 4-5 persons.

Looks good, but I have yet to read it. Curiously, the copy I got from a second hand seller is signed and inscribed by the author (I think) with a personal message to one of his collegues/students/friends at the Center for Naval Analyses, someone named Phil. Funny how old books always have stories to tell... who was Phil, what became of him, and how did this book end up in my hands?

Battleforce 1 was the first game I ever bought, with money I'd been saving up for months; I was looking to buy an RPG, but couldn't resist the cool robots on the cover. Have fond memories of it; I even programmed a software in BASIC that would let you pick the individual mechs you wanted for each unit and give you the appropriate BF stats for the counter. However, after I bought Battletech, this almost never came out again; it's very bland compared with BT, plus combats with individual mechs/vehicles were much appropriate as part of Mechwarrior, which ended up being the first RPG I bought.

Compared to the other C&C games, I'm not sure if the Lore rules adds as much fun to the game as to compensate for the extra layer of complexity/chaos it adds to the system. Also, I miss the historical scenarios & historical introductions. Nevertheless, it's fun battling it out with monstruous creatures, armies special powers, and all that in a fantasy setting. Also, I rate it a little lower because the boxed game only comes with 10 scenarios.

Have only played the 30 cards deck minigame using the 2-Player Starter Pack. I love the TV Series, so I like the theme. Too bad it's a collectable game!

Used to play this, and most of its "sister" games, a hell lot when I was a kid.

The theme is nice and well developed but the game... well, the first half (before the haunt happens) there is *nothing* special to do except walk around and have good/bad things happen to you over which you have no control whatsoever. After the haunt happens, things get really interesting but... my God, the errata for the haunts is so long!

I really like this. Fast, furious, fun and fabulous! I have played a few CCGs, but I have yet to find one that comes close to this! Must play this a lot more!!!

Woohaa! I was playing Blue Moon with a friend at the FLGS when a dude shows up, sees the Mimix expansion besides us, and tells us he drew every single one of those cards (except the leader)! Incredible! My friend asked him to sign one of the cards ("Young Fox", I think), the first that the artist created for the deck. Who would guess that a Portuguese drew all those cards with beautiful semi-naked women? Even after looking at credits, it seems hard to believe. Really cool!

THE Battle of Britain. Must play this more, a lot more!

Have only played this with 2 players, and it works surprising well! Plenty of strategy, tactics and decisions, compressed into a short and simple game. Plus, the visual effect is very stunning.

Played with only two players it's slow and bland. With 4 or 5, now we're talking!

This one's a real gem. Must be one of the most elegant wargame designs ever! I love all of its mechanics, the card-playing and handling, the random events, the random hexes, the dice on the cards, the hidden and the unexpected new objectives, etc; I just love every bit of it! I've been playing it whenever I get the chance, and have just bought my own copy.

My favourite of the C&C games! A perfect blending of theme, strategy, quickness of playing and easiness of learning.

Includes a full mounted board, yay!

Fast, furious and mostly fun. I used to play EVE Online, and I just love me some spaceship battles, so I love the theme.

Very fun little game, easy to teach, quick to play.

The Estoril circuit is not very interesting for a F-Dé game, although it's from my country.

Very funny and engaging game. The theme is pretty well done, and the game plays really fast. Also, the rulebook... I think it's the first rulebook I actually enjoyed reading; it manages to be quite funny *and* teach you everything you need at the same time. I usually hate it when rulebooks try to be funny; this actually manages that with flying colors!

After one play, I liked this a whole lot. The rules are simple, but very engaging. Our game took a bit too long and that put off some of my fellow boardgamers, but I think that after a few plays to get the hang of it, the game length will be just right for me.

Amazing game; so much to keep track off, so much options, so many paths to victory. Fell in love with it at first play. Must play this more and see how it holds up.

Wow! El Grande blew me away when I first played. So many tough decisions and choices! It was top of my wishlist ever since, and I was very fortunate and immensely happy to get this as a gift from my BGG Secret Santa for Christmas 2006.

Incredibly funny!

Woohaa! I can only wish all my next wargames will be as fun to learn and play like this one! Low unit count, real fog of war, few and simple mechanics yet so much depth and theme. The playing is totally assimetrical for each side and yet balanced. It's just fun, fun, fun. The time just flies away! The more I play it, the more I love it.

Got this cheap on e-bay. Now I just got to actually buy the original game!

Very fun filler! Lightning fast! Can't get enough of it! Surely one of the very best in its category; how many other games can there be where you can teach the entire rules in 1 minute and setup and play a full game in 15 with so much to it?

First couple of times were fun, though I only begun to see how to try to form a strategy at the end. Will try to play it again.

One of the boardgames that started me on "the path"! Oozes with theme.

Adds more variety to the game, although it might make it a tad too easy to win (plus it's not that fun to win a military victory as it is win by destroying the ring as in the novels).

Wow. Such a small and fast game with so many agonizing choices to make at every turn!

It might be considered simple, but it's challenging and gets the job done in no time.

The system is great; simple to learn and teach, but very thematic and engaging. The only letdown here is the subject matter & scenarios; so far, they've been pretty bland. This because the map is too small and filled with river, swamp and bocage hexes... not the ideal territory if you're looking to make a fast war of movement and flanking your opponent. Also there are almost no tanks to speak off, and when there are, they just get bogged down in the swamp if they leave the road that takes them straight to the enemy. Still, it's a great bargain and the small-scale scenarios are perfect for learning the ropes.
