You got some rules wrong in your presentation:

* People start with (# of players - 1) dubloon at the beginning, so in a 4p game with 3 and not 4 dubloons.

* If you ship a good, you have not to choose the largest ship available, but you have to choose one which you can put all of your barrels of one type on. If all ships (6,7,8) are empty and you want to ship your corn (2), you can choose whatever ship you like, but if you have 6 corn to ship you may not choose the 5-ship.

This PDF was very useful. In conjunction with it and the online version of Puerto Rico, I learned to play. Thanks

Very nice tutorial.

Just bought the game and the tut was enormous help for me.
Better than the manual to learn puerto rico.

It would be very helpful to see an example game witch jumps forward to a later stage in the game so that there are more colonists, plantations and buildings in play.

p.s. how did you make this pdf.
I cannot do it in acrobat.

Nice work and thanks for the nice tutorial

are you sure about this rule? it says you must ship on the largest empty ship if you have a choice. that's how i understood the rule (if you have two corn and there's an empty 5 and 7 you must put them on the 7, right? )

Hi! It's not quite like this. The rules state the following:

Quote:
When a player loads goods of a kind, he must load as many of that kind as he can. A player cannot hold back goods when there is space on a ship carrying the kind of goods he has. If a player has a kind of goods that can be loaded on several empty ships, he must choose the ship where he can load the most goods, leaving none behind, if possible.

In the example that you are giving, you can choose any of both ships, as you consider more usefull to you.

The mandatory rule is that, choose at least the largest ship where you can load most goods that you own in the moment of the load.
