good rewrite, imo. only two things i would say need changing.

Quote:
Be the first player to push a rock off the board.

this rule is ambiguous, you must define what it means to be the pusher of the rock. the winner is actually the player whose animal is:

-in the same line as the felled rock
-facing the felled rock
-nearest to the felled rock

Quote:
You may not rotate your animal and then move it on the same turn.

if you may move your animal to any orthogonally adjacent space and then rotate it, why can't it be done the other way around?
