I played this variant with my wife this past weekend and we loved it! The resources kept coming in and we moved out across the board fairly quickly. We felt the balance was maintained throughout gameplay and the leader kept switching back and forth. We didn't play until 21, only 18 VP's, but it was a good 2.5 hours.

Smart idea to limit only one colony per star system, it makes you explore farther out on the board. I do have a suggestion on sticker placement. You recommend moving stickers to slightly different locations so you can fold the board up. We kept our stickers in the original positions and used a razor blade to slice along the seam. The stickers are well-maintained and stay in place quite nicely. I also like your positioning of the Travelers card pile sticker. I hadn't thought of doing that - it makes more sense your way.

Thanks for posting your rules. We will enjoy them for many years!
