Medieval Merchant game summary - Xyron 510.pdf (252 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Condenses the wordily convoluted rules into a summary reminder, so you can pull out the game after a couple of years, and be playing again in seconds. Version 2006-12-18 16:12:08
Thanks. Just downloaded them and printed them out.
we will try to play the game with this for the first time. I think we will have no problem at all as your document is very clear.
Thank you, Kris! I hope this was helpful in your first go. It was intended to help someone familiar with the game after a hiatus, so I'm very curious as to how much it helped with your first playing!
it should be clear that if when opening a new branch in a town that the game does not end immediately but at the end of that players turn (which makes a difference if that player has an escort letter left they could open a new branch in a city as well)
for setup it's actually easier on the town counter track to simply put it right where it will be after what you call the prelim round. ie. for a 5 player game setup place it on the 15, 6 player on the 14, etc.
I would highlight the 3 places where "escort letter" occurs so new players can easily see the 3 things they could be used for. may also want to note somewhere (maybe on the setup/prelim round table) that a player can only use one escort letter per turn.
the biggy... for me this is difficult to print... I have a duplex printing samsung clp-510... however it rotates the pages...
... this would be much nicer if instead of trying to have 1/2 sheet aids... to have this be a 10 page pdf with page 1 be setup for 2 player, page 2 be player aid for 2 players, page 3 be setup for 3 players, page 4 be player aid for 3 players, etc.
Unfortunately, Jeff, this is one of half a million files I lost in an ironic attempt to back everything up. I'll see what I can do and how soon I can do it.
As to duplex printing, you should be able to specify the axis on which it "rotates" the page for duplexing. I've seen it referred to the binding edge, the stapling edge, simply illustrated with graphics, poorly illustrated with graphics, or named "short edge" / "long edge". Double-check your print driver settings, because if that's all it is, you can get some satisfaction much faster than my no-guaranty offer.

ah bummer not that it helps with this one, but one beauty of the new reworked bgg files section is being able to have more than one file "grouped"... so folks should be able to upload both a pdf and the source file (word, etc).
i'm in no hurry so if you ever get to it it will be great!

it may be possible but sadly I have tried before with others and never found the right combo of settings if anyone has a samsung clp-510 or maybe another duplex printing samsung w/the same print driver please let me know if it is indeed possible
Interesting thought on the file revisions: I never thought of [ab]using it in order to "open-source" my work. Sigh.
this is the geek... the age of wikipedia, etc. if your file uploads are "proprietary" then let me know, ... I just think it's a good way to have it not get lost again (especially if for some reason you left bgg)
I totally agree with you, Jeff, but back in the day, BGG refused files in proprietary formats, because they're useless for most people. Frankly, I wish all of us were encouraged to provide the file in the original format when we upload a PDF. This particular file was created in Microsoft Visio.
In general, I'm quite happy to CC BY-NC-SA my contributions:
