Ah, the good old times.
I remember when my brother played the fellowship and Frodo was the ringbearer, deseased but near to a haven. I was grinning from ear to ear because of the impending death of Frodo due to this disease. But my brother just nonchalantly countered:
"Oh, i think you have forgotten rule 15.12!"
...insert dramatic pause here...
"Aragorn uses his Athelas he has gathered in Rivendell and heals Frodo's disease damage."
And so this darned little hobbit made it alive to the next haven and survived...

On page 12 in 8.33, it says flyers can avoid "F" type search results. I believe it should be "E" results. That is what my rulebook says but it may be an old edition. (this would match the group on horseback)

There are some other glitches, but those might be due to typos/inconsistencies in the original rules. (I never actually touched the rules that came with the box out of fear that they might crumble on touch - it's pretty flimsy paper.)

For example, the rules clearly state (7.31) that foot movement is 1 "otherwise", but table 1 lists NA for "otherwise".

I also faintly recall that there is one sentence in which either EP or FP occurs twice, and it doesn't make any sense that way, but it would if you exchanged one of the two occurrences by the other term. (Sorry for not being more helpful, but having forced myself through the rules twice, I have come to dread them.)
