Tried making this, the angle are way off. So while this is a great idea, be prepared to spend ALOT time "fine tuning" the pieces so they work.

They are a bit off, and some fine tuning is required, but it didn't feel like ALOT to me

I build it using this guide here. The result is just awesome. With the messures provided it even has the exact hight as the board.

Simply awesome. Thanks for providing this guide here!

But I have to admit it took quite a while to build it. I spend 4-5 hours on this project. But its definitively worth every minute.

I've been looking all over the place (Madison, WI) for the appropriate type of cardboard. I ruled out corrugated, so am looking for chipboard - something as close as possible to the actual game pieces. I looked at Michael's, Joann stores, various office supply stores. Only ones I haven't checked are an actual art supply store.

Where did everyone find their chipboard?

I use Illustrator board from Staples and find the thickness to be almost exact.

Do you have a link to that product? I searched "illustrator board" on staples.com and am not seeing anything relevant so far as I can tell.

Cannot seem to find it online but I always go in and buy it. It should be in the same section that has the foam core boards.

Thanks - I will visit Staples again this week. I went through every aisle of Office Max, didn't find anything and assumed Staples or Office Depot would have the exact same selection of products... maybe not. Thanks again!

I actually bought it at a local art supply store. They have pretty much every material and thickness you can which for. 2mm works perfectly.

BTW: I used spray glue, it will not wrap the paper or anything.

---
FYI:
I found a company (in germany) who will laser-cut stuff for you out of pretty much every material. http://www.formulor.de/
(But sadly I found it after I was finished, so don't have any experience here)

Maybe you can find something like this as well. This should save a lot of time and will be even more precise.

Unfortunately I don't have a local German art supply store in my town

I did find the product Martin mentioned though, and it looks close enough in thickness, should be even closer after the two paper sides are glued, so I'm golden for now.

Every body should have one of those. laugh

Have fun building. Maybe you can write here how long it took for you and if you are satisfied with the result. The first post here indicated some flaw I really cannot understand.
