Football Scoresheet.xlt (201 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This is a newer version of the Scoresheet that was originally inspired by Bill Koens. This one fixes a couple of bugs in the last upload. This one should work equally well in Excel, or in Open Office.

This Microsoft Excel Template borrows heavily from Bill Koens earlier posted automated spreadsheet but I believe is much improved and tailored for my own personal entry. (Previous sheet here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/file/info/22369)

I have hidden superfluous columns and data which are only used for calculation purposes, and protected all the worksheets, so that the layout for the sheets cannot be accidently adjusted or changed.

I also use data validation on several of the fields to ensure that valid data is entered where required for the statistics calculations.

I have added to and edited the summary page a bit to make it very nice to print out as a one sheet after the quarter data has been entered. This summary sheet is also where you edit the Team names.

As far as stats adjustments, I have taken Sacks off of the summary page, and moved sack yardage to subtract from the rushing game, in accordance with college rules, This is personal preference. I believe that's the only scoring change I have made from the original file.

I have simplified the Entry for the quarters (taking away the exact playcall for the offense and opting for Run/Pass Notation) and removing the defensive playcall completely. This is also a personal preference thing, and makes it easier to enter the data at gametime for our own league.

The Sheets are all password protected with all cells not requiring user intervention locked, and lots of extra cells hidden. The DBRefs sheet is also hidden for your convenience.

Should you wish to edit or update the sheet for your own new statistics, or to make it pro friendly again, the Password to all the sheets is "BGGRules" (Obeying capital letters).

You can look at the list or some of the tooltips to help you with entry, but I'm too lazy to write notes or a tutorial, If I do later, I will add them to this thread. But you can probably use the Data Validation, or the Tooltips to figure most of it out.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me via geekmail.

If Bill Koens has a problem with my adjustments to his sheet to try to make it a bit prettier, and what I think may be a little more User proof and friendly, then I will happily ask for it to be removed.

Hey there! I'm glad someone liked my entry enough to improve upon it. More power to you.

Long live the geek!

I need a little help.

I have a 3rd downwith distance 9, and have made a short pass to TD. I filled:

Dn 3, Ds 9, Off Call Pass, Res 9, Score TD, Tm 1

But when I go to Summary, 3rd Down Efficiency is 0 - 1. This was not supposed to be 1 - 1 ??

Thnaks !
