I have played quite a few times now, and I have noticed that the AI never buy fireworks. Ever. They may buy pyrotechnics, but never fireworks.

Ya, I discussed this with the author of the program (along with 2 or 3 minor bugs I found), but he didn't seem interested to work on it anymore. Technically, Fireworks are usually a sub par thing to get, since it becomes an arms race over a very few VP. Technically, the AI does buy Fireworks, it is just very rare and only when they have nothing else to do and when Firework Celebration is coming up.
