Considering that this sheet is meant to be printed, I think you could use a white background. We would use less ink and the text would be more readible due to higher contrast.

OK, I would settle for whitish rather than white. Now, it looks nice on-screen, but when you print it in monochrome it actually does not look good at all. However, the information is what counts and I like the layout.

I just submitted v1.1 of the reference sheet, it will hopefully be approved in a few days. I fixed a bit of the wording and also did significantly lighten up the background. I still do recommend color printing.
