It's not until one actually starts to work on some page layouts that you discover the task of condensing a large amount of information into just 2 or 3 pages. I think you've done a great job! You have been able to find some really good wording to describe the game elements and mechanics.

Now let me have a chat to you zippadeedoodah about my other games... :-)

Great job on this! I saw your plug in one of the game rules discussions and had to check it out. Now I don't have to make one myself.

One rule that I think might be mis-interpreted is this one for movement:

Quote:
You may only move in a straight line: left, right, forwards or backwards, but not diagonally.

It sounds like you can ONLY move in a straight line for the entire move, which I believe isn't correct.

Perhaps:

"Each move between spaces must be orthogonally adjacent to the current space: left, right, forwards or backwards, but not diagonally."

You could probably drop 'orthogonally' to make it shorter if necessary.

Also, for this one:
Quote:
You may not enter the same space twice during your move.

It might be good to add:
"(back-tracking/looping/back & forth are not allowed)"

Also, you should put the Timber Tom web site on this reference sheet

Actually, this solves one of the biggest questions I had - the sequence of play. After looking over the game guide twice, I was still uncertain. I think it had a lot of doing with the English translation perhaps?

Anyway, I am very happy to download this excellent reference!

Cheers!
Paul

The Guide says: "If ever you form a closed ring of trees around another player, the blocked player will have the right to REMOVE and REPLANT any 3 trees from the board before the next move."

On Zippadeedoodah's (rnijholt) TT Reference he says: "There must always remain a free path available for each hiker. Any hiker who is completely closed in by trees may remove and replant 3 trees anywhere on the board before moving."

I asked Marco about enclosing your OWN hiker and he says:
"The New Game Guide which is now being printed (v3) specifically states that... "a player CANNOT block his own hiker in order to gain an advantage from this rule"."

I mailed this to Zippadeedoodah so that he can correct this guide to say "enclosed by another player"

I was not aware of these new comments, but now I've subscribed to this item.

I implemented the suggestions made by tasajara and Solamar in the updated version (18-aug-09).
