Great for learning the game if the rules left you somewhat dumbstruck... as they did with me. Good Job!

If you ever do another version:
- It would be nice to be able to zoom in a bit on the board.
- I think i found a very minor bug:
When drawing equipment in the Equipment stores, the game says:
Draw Item Tiles: 2 grogs taken
When in the Captain's Cabin, the game says:
Draw Grog Tiles: 2 items taken
The answers seem to be switched.

Thanks a lot.

I found bug when I draw event card and found limit hand event.
If I have item tile equal limit, I discard item tile until zero but game can't continue, I must start new game for play normally.

Sorry for weak English.

The red and blue blocks are nearly the same exact shade as the last few spaces on the track, making it nearly impossible which space it's on when it gets near the end (this may vary depending on monitor brightness and such, but I certainly can't see them).

Maybe give the blocks a black outline or something so that there is SOME contrast and you can tell where it is.

If you have the latest Java installed, you should just be able to open the .jar file. Works on my Vista machine. Don't know how it runs on a Mac.

Thanks for all the comments. Now that my thesis is done I finally have some time to look at all those issues and bugs. I'll post the latest version within a week (hopefully).

Looks like I have found a bug.

When you faild to put down FIRE in the room and have no way to run (neighbour rooms with fire too or blocked) you could not continue. You could not run and could not kill yourself.

Great little app! Much easier/quicker than getting the board all set up, just for a solo game. I had an issue where undoing a turn messed things up. No worries though -- I just don't undo turns now. Thanks!

The download always stops halfway through (both 1.4 and 1.3). Am I doing something wrong?

Love love love love love it !

Red November wherever I go (with my laptop, of course...)

Would love to see a copy of the source code as well, to learn how you did a number of things in the game, and inspire me for sorting out my amateur Java computer board game projects - is this something you'd be happy to share ? Or is it in a source control repo somewhere ?

Many thanks,
Ben

I found an issue with the game. If a gnome starts its turn in a room on fire together with another gnome, they shouldn't be able to trade items. In the game though, they can, after which the active gnome immediately dies.

Great game btw!

I had thought about coding this, but I've been too lazy. Glad to see you didn't share my vice.

I had fun with it. Just one issue I found in the game I played: I cannot enter a room that's on fire when I have the fire extinguisher. I could only enter the room by using the extinguisher. Considering how hard those things can be to find sometimes, I never use up a fire extinguisher unless I have to.

Despite that extra challenge, my gnomes miraculously survived.

Page 13 of the Rules states:

Quote:
A gnome cannot enter a room that is on fire unless he uses a Grog
or Fire Extinguisher during his turn.

So you either need to activate that precious fire extinguisher or down a Grog to even get into a room with a fire... That there is the rules!

Edit: Yes I realize this comment is about 2 year late. Just discovered this game and am totally digging it... (in case you were wondering)
