Some time ago, after Blokus hit the shelves, but before Blokus Trigon came around, my friend and I made our own true three player version from scratch. We called it TriPakus, and released it into the public domain as a Print-And-Play game. As far as I know it never got much attention, probably because Blokus Trigon hit the shelves soon afterward.

The board is different (ours is a triangle), and the rules are slightly different (ours disallows corner-to-side contact of like color), but the pieces are the same 22 unique arrangements of up to 6 triangular segments. TriPakus does not support a fourth player, but then again the whole point of creating it was to make Blokus work when only three players are available. Four players can play the original Blokus.
