Leader 1 - Pimp My Ride v2 cards+tokens.pdf (2.14 MB) (Solve captcha above to download.)
The use of pen and paper to track riders' expert abilities, risk and energy is a bit annoying, fiddly and off-putting to some players, so I have made a set of printable cards and tokens which can be used instead of the player sheets. Slipstream tokens are also included to keep track of slipstreaming riders.

This version 2 file replaces the previous expert tokens with rider cards for downhill and sprint expert riders as well as for standard riders. Each colour coded rider/expert card includes all the movement details for that type of rider/expert on the different types of terrain. General game turn and movement rules summary cards are also included.

Great job! But for the longer races would it be nice to have some 10 and 20 energy tokens...

I have been using poker chips for my Giro replay. However, if you play with the full Leader 2 rules, you would also need addition tokens to track each team's peleton pursuit points, correct?

That is correct!
Shame that Soren doesn't seem to believe in the power of Leader 2

Btw a friend of mine is working on software which would allow the PC to calculate everything after you click on the spot where you want to finish your move on the screen.
This should take him less a bit less than a decade hopefully

The Leader 2 variant looks interesting and I appreciate the efforts to make the game richer and more realistic. thumbsup

However, I only get to play the game occasionally and usually with a number of new players and always only a single stage of 6-8 tiles, so my interest is in making the base game simpler and easier to learn and play rather than to make it more realistic but also more complex.

Also, as I am not a cycling geek - only watching the Tour de France, casually - I do not feel a need to make the game more realistic. I think the base game captures the strategy, tactics and feel of a cycling race very well at least from an outsiders view.

Maybe I will manage to get a group of experienced Leader 1 fans together sometime, so that we can try Leader 2.

If any other cards/tokens are needed for Leader 2, feel free to let me know exactly what is needed and I will consider adding them if it is not too much work - or you can have a copy of my source files (Microsoft Word / Paint.NET) and add them yourself.

Soren,

Can you kindly post your source files? I am considering creating a set of new cards for the Leader 1/2 rules.

Thanks in advance. Your cards look great!
