RotH Counter Glossary.doc (125 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
I have taken all 233 counters from "Return of the Heroes", "Under the Shadow of the Dragon", and "Die Ruckkehr der Helden: Die Gralssuche" and categorized, alphabetized, and glossarized them. No more flipping through multiple rule books and glossaries every time you draw a counter! This is 16 pages in Microsoft Word, but I've formatted it in such a way that each counter set can be printed on a separate reference sheet (for example, all the Creature counters could be printed out onto 2 sheets of label paper and stuck on both sides of a piece of red cardboard). This project took me 18 hours to complete, so hopefully someone finds it to be helpful! [UPDATE: A couple of minor clarifications have been made in the "Comments".]

Despite my extensive proof-reading, I seem to have overlooked a couple of minor details. First, under the ENCOUNTERS, the "Land Portal" seems to have managed to teleport itself out of the alphabetical order. It can be found between the "Mystic" and "Orchan".

Second, under the ARTIFACTS, that stubborn "Magic Broom" is giving me problems. The counter itself indicates that a magic trial with a modifier of -2 must be performed in order to use the Broom, but there is no mention of this in the game glossary or rule book. Therefore, I have adjusted the "Magic Broom" text to read as follows:

"Magic Broom (PA) - The Stubborn Magic Broomstick might allow the hero to go for a little flight. Prior to movement, the player must make a magic trial with a modifier of -2. If unsuccessful, the hero must use regular movement. If successful, he/she will roll one die to ride the Magic Broom. On a roll of 2-6, the hero may fly to any tan field on a map region orthogonally adjacent to the region the hero is starting from. On a roll of 1, the Broom returns to the house where it was created (place the hero on field K2). The hero does not lose the Broom, and on a future turn may fly off from there as long as he/she does not roll a 1 again."

With regards to the Magic Broom, I thought the -2 magic trial was only to pick up the broom. Once you've picked it up, you can use it for free (i.e., without a trial) to move to a tan space in an orthogonal field, unless you roll a "1" and then it's back to the witch house. Seems like they would have mentioned making a magic trial every time you wanted to move in the Glossary since the rules go through all the other details.

Furthermore, by analogy, the "-2" is in the upper right side of the counter, the same place that shows how much you have to pay for an item (i.e., to pick it up), and then you don't have to pay every time you use it. Similarly, this area shows what the trial is in order to kill a monster (i.e., pick it up).

Wow! This is a great piece of work as the original game components make it very hard to find information that you need. Thank you very much for this work!

We played a game recently and these two things I found in your glossary that are done differently in rulesbook / original glossary: (at least according to our groups interpretation)
1) In City of Mages region tile I think Garbage bin works always when you get there (no need to have tile) on a roll of 1. If there is this tile then it is higher chance only (on roll of 1-2) to find a magic item.

2) The Stubborn Magic broom is not prior to movement but instead of. This information is very hard to find as it is on p. 10 only (instead of logical p. 14) in English Glossary.
