"Engendro" is a noun that comes from the verb "engendrar" (to engender), which means "to make something born", with a strong negative connotation of "extremely ugly and malformed".

So, an Engendro is a creature that borns ugly, malformed or with strange proportions.

Coloquially, you can use that word to refer to a ugly or malformed child, but it's extremely disrespectful. Figuratively, you can use it to refer to a very bad intellectual work.

In sci-fi or fantasy, "engendro" is used with ugly creatures born in unnatural or unpleasant ways (summoned, dna-engineered). A Tzimisce flesh golem, the uruk-hai orcs, or the Frankstein monster are "engendros".
