New and Improved air rules should be easier to understand. These are the air unit rules I made up after reading the air pack rules at a game convention. Three types of attacks, plus recon and heroic leader rescue. Air defense artillery, and ground units returning fire with air units. All the features left out of the air pack.Ships have anti-air capability as well. All from a two page set of rules!

I have heard request to make the pictures of depicting my Air Rules bigger. Now here they are! Pictures displaying game situations of my Air Unit Rules in a PDF! These pictures are complete with captions and are big, two to a page! They serve as examples of bombing, strafing, activating air units, attacking an air unit on the ground, rescuing a heroic leader, and using an artillery with an anti-air component.

I made the storch rules easier to understand, and I changed the rules so that units being strafed or bombed can fight back!

I changed a typo and changed the range of anti-artillery from one hex to two hexes. I also added a rule about reshuffling the deck after playing an air sortie card so that they come up more often. Please let me know how I can improve these rules. I have been trying to make them better, while at the same time keeping them to two pages. What do you think?

A friend of mine, who had met Richard, told me that he had wanted a more anti aircraft role in the Air Pack. After hearing this I came up with these rules in about an hour at a convention, but then revised them with some new ideas. I am thinking of allowing the use of a recon in force card to activate air units for players who do not have the air sortie cards. I'm open to suggestions, or comments. I am really interested to know how many people are playing with these rules.:)

Original AP rules are in fact discouraging and after several plays I found that my gaming partner and me don't use the planes figuring out it's easier to loose a medal from an enemy AA fire than to harm any unit on board. The rules simply didn't pay off, if you know what I mean.
Your custom rules are elegant. Although I had no opportunity to test them on board, as a veteran Memoir player I picture them in action easily. So I translated them into Polish, my mother tongue and after slight adjustments (for my fellow leader will post the translation on BGG very soon.

Thanks for the kind words, now that they are in Polish, more people will have access to them. I do play test them (when I get a chance) and make changes from time to time based on those games. I just made another change suggested by my best friend when we played last week.

I'm glad you like my air rules, I have never played the "official" rules from the air pack book. As soon as I read that airplanes only move four hexes, I said, "That's wrong!" My friends agreed when they read my rules, and that is the only way we have played airplanes in Memoir 44. I am still thinking of improvements, but I like that the rules are only two pages long. I will probably finish my overlord air rules soon. Thank you for your kind comments.

Check out the latest version! It includes pictures showing how to play, and overlord rules! Plus, I added true ground interdiction, and air interdiction! (The only thing I don't like is that they are now 6 pages!)
