Please note that there is an error in the rules. In Combat, on page 6, at the end of paragraph 3, it says (emphasis added):
"If the Monster suffers damage equal to or greater than the number of players on your team, the Monster is defeated. Discard it and end the Turn. Otherwise, combat continues (unless the team retreats)."
It should say:
"If the Monster suffers damage equal to or greater than the number of players on your team, the Monster is defeated. Discard it and end the combat. Otherwise, combat continues (unless the team retreats)."
In other words, defeating a Monster lets you continue your turn. Fleeing from a Monster forces you to end your turn.
