Unless I misunderstood something, it looks like this beautiful edition dispenses with the unique "once around auction" and makes it a standard clockwise-until-you-pass auction. For me, that removes most of the fun and ruins the game. To me, Medici is all about the painful joy of using your one chance in auction to name that precise number. What's the perfect number? It's a horribly painful, wonderful, funny, tense and exciting exercise.

To me, Medici without the once-around-auction is not Medici. J'accuse!
