* The author did not ask my permission to reuse & modify my Quick Reference Cards, nor did he ever notify me that he had done so.
(Not really a problem for me, but the lack of simple courtesy is unfortunate.)
* The author does not make it clear that the Quick Reference Cards were originally designed by me, nor did he include a link to the original, unmodified files.
(Somewhat of a problem for me.)
* The author does not make it clear that the modified Quick Reference Cards in his posting should *only* be used with his variant rules, nor does he explain what modifications he made.
(A big problem for me.)
Just so that everything is perfectly clear, I had nothing to do with this variant, and the inclusion of a modified version of one of my player aids does not constitute any sort of endorsement of this variant on my part, as this was done without my knowledge or permission.
The BGG admins reviewed the posting of this variant, at the request of another Magic Realm player, and chose to let the file remain. I had no objection to that decision.
The correct and unmodified Quick Reference Cards can be found at the link below, and that is the only version that should be used for regular games of Magic Realm:
Can we get a copy of your action cards (not quick reference cards)?
I must confess that I'm confused by your question: what could possibly make you think that I have a set of my own "action cards"?
For the record – and this has nothing specifically to do with Francois Bedard's file here – I think that using something like action cards is a terrible idea that simply makes the game slower and more awkward to play. I guarantee you that I can write down a move in a fraction of the time it would take you to manipulate a dozen or so action cards... and I don't need a screen or shield to keep my written move secret from the other players.
There's some interesting discussion of a similar idea in this thread:
