This is a text file showing an approximation of the initial deployment of the main combat groups for Germany and Poland on the eve of war - 1st September 1939. I admit my sources are not exhaustive ("The Polish Campaign 1939" by Zaloga and Madej, "Case White" by W. Russ), but this could provide a starting point for further refinement by anyone interested. Using the information available to me, I do not claim the deployment of brigade-size units and below are anywhere near accurate in the majority of cases, but where units are attached to corps/division-sized units I have placed them accordingly ... otherwise the rest are my attempt at a rational deployment (be it good or bad). Anyone interested in refining/correcting this setup, please geek mail me. However many errors there are in this "historical" setup ... looking at the map with the units deployed ... surely the Poles were beaten before the first shot was fired?
After posting the original file, I noticed a few typos which I have corrected. Further, the actual rules of F2F 2nd Ed preclude the positioning of any units other than Mtn XX's in Slovakia so I have revised the placement of the 14th Army's two right wing Lt Panzer XX's and associated units to conform to the rules.
