A unique encounter created for the 2009 Gamer's Reunion Cutthroat Cavern's tournament. The "Dread Gazebo" is based off of the infamous RPG story about a confused Player and a small decorated building in a quiet garden.
This encounter is stupid. Instant kill, and no way to kill it.
i really wish there were more legitimate downloads for this awesome game.
Admittedly, the encounter is a tough one. It requires the players to hit hard and quickly before the Dread Gazebo attacks. This encounter should only be used as a "last boss monster" type encounter and only played with experienced players.
I used this monster as the "last boss monster" for the tournament I ran. All of the players knew what they were doing and worked really hard to hit hard and redirect when not able. It was a fantastic encounter! The best card playing I have seen in a long while. In the end, the Dread Gazebo at two of the four players.
Not a single one of the players (eaten or otherwise) said they didn't like the encounter.
Stupid? I guess it is all based on an individual's point of view.
Free is free, baby. Use it or don't. Makes no difference in the grand scheme of things.
If it helps, Curt Covert, the game designer, liked this encounter. If that is not enough to at least try the encounter, I don't know what I or anyone else can possibly say to change your mind.
