Midway-Smithsonian Set Up Cards V1.1.zip (1.51 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Scenario set up cards for the Japanese and United States Navy forces, with a scanned 600 dpi image of the unit, its name (in case you cannot read the scanned image), and its starting location.

Scenario cards are provided for the following MIDWAY scenarios:

1. Introductory
2. The Midway Campaign
3. The Battle of Midway
4. Night Surface Action

Note: the "Midway Campaign" scenario includes a number of optional units that were provided in optional rules in an article, "Opus Taylorum" by the game's developer, Mr. S. Craig Taylor, in the Avalon Hill General Vol. 28, No. 5. You will need game pieces from Guadalcanal (Smithsonian Edition) and from the subscriber-only insert from AH General Volume 28, No. 6 to play using these units (or just copy the units from the set up cards themselves or extract them from the images section here).

Scenario cards are in PDF format and sized for 8.5" x 14" paper,

Change for V1.1:
1. Increased image resolution for all cards to 600 dpi
2. Made minor corrections to U.S. cards (replaced references to "Henderson" with "Midway")

Please let me know if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions. Thanks! :)

Thanks for these, I was just about to start making these, but you saved me the effort.

But:
Quote:
Midway Base: Place the Henderson base unit in hex “N6” at the game’s start

You forgot to change this from Guadalcanal to Midway, on p1,2,3 of US setup card.

Trying to setup scenario 2, I found quite a lot of differences with the setup from the rulebook. There is no task force 11. Task force A is not mentioned in the rules... The Japanese appears to have ships in the wrong place as well.

Hi!

The setup cards are corrected in V1.1.

The extra optional units you found are given as optional rules in an article, "Opus Taylorum" by the game's developer, Mr. S. Craig Taylor, in the Avalon Hill General Vol. 28, No. 5. You will need game pieces from Guadalcanal (Smithsonian Edition) and from the subscriber-only insert from AH General Volume 28, No. 6 to play these (or just copy the units from the set up cards themselves or extract them from the images section here).

I have updated the set up cards to reflect this information.

Thanks!
