lotrtcgcardlist.pdf (591 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This file contains the complete cardlist for all printed cards from the Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game (TCG) by Decipher, which ran from 2001 until 2007. It includes all major and minor expansions, and all known printed promotional cards, except those only available in a language other than English (and Elvish). The style is similar to the cardlists published by Decipher, Inc., around 2001, but this cardlist is completely a work of my own. It is designed to fit nicely within a 3-ring binder, with 1 1/2" spacing on the left and 3/4" on the right of each page. For organizational purposes and in case you never collected any, the promotional cards are listed separately at the back of the cardlist.

Note: I was not able to find the origin (the means of obtaining the card) for around 20 promotional cards (listed as Unknown Promotional Card(s) in this list) so if you know that information, or find any errors with the cardlist, please message me or post here with corrections. Thank you!

I got your message and decided to respond here:

I don't actually know what the final card count is since it seems there are some cards that were digital-only and other cards that may or may not have existed, specifically in the promo cards. I will try and count them at some point and post it here. I don't think 1000 is an especially large collection, though, since each expansion has a fair number of cards. Just check the last card number in each expansion.

It's not a bad deal at all. I have much fewer than 1000 different types of cards (probably around 350 or so) and can still play the game just fine. You may want to make sure your 1000 or so cards are all from one block, though; probably the movie block. Otherwise some of your cards may come into conflict with rules. After the last Return of the King expansion, they began phasing out the original nine expansions in favor of the newer ones. They weren't even allowed in tournaments except for special movie block tournaments. I've only purchased cards in the first nine expansions because of that, so you may want to check. Try chatting on the Last Homely House forum for further questions as the people there are quite helpful. They helped me with my cardlist quite a bit.

Excellent list!!! I have a promo card not appearing in it. It's "The One Ring", numbered 4M1, and giving +2 to Vitality. The card is the "release schedule for 2004-2007" and lists sets 8 to 18 with their respective release dates (there was lots of wishful thinking there...). I got this card at my local FLGS (Hyperborea, long gone now).

Do you have any further information on this promo series? I have no cards with numbers in the style of 4M1 that I can find nor have I heard anything about them from people. Granted, it has been quite a while since I made this cardlist so I could be forgetting something about how I designed it. Where would 4M1 The One Ring fit on my list, if you know? Thanks.

I had no further information about it but then, I just thought it was a marketing (the M reference) card given to retailers. But a little search and I found that there is another M card (4M2 Legolas, Dauntless Hunter) and both would fit at the end of the Two Towers set. See this page:
http://www.collecttolkien.com/CardsDeciTTT.htm
You will find that there are also M cards at the end of each of the first 6 sets (FOTR and both expansions, TT and both expansions).
