AL-Damage-V1.0.xls (28 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This excel file contains average results from simulations of a straight up Arcane Legions roll with different attack and defense die. A chance to crit table is included on the second tab. I am planning on expanding simulations with specials in the future if there is interest. Enjoy.

Hi Scott,

Do you mind telling me how you got to these numbers?
I assume that you either created a simulator with randomized die rolls & ran it a ton or you created a program to look at all the possible die outcomes and generate an average?

Thanks!

Tyler

Tyler,
You guessed right on the first one. I ran 10,000 "battles" for each die pairing and averaged the results. I tried to do pure math (hence tab 2 with the crit table) but for the full battles I could not figure it out. I thought it would be easier to simulate, if not as accurate.

This method also allows me to look into some of the other abilities that alter more than just number of die rolled. I am working on Bad Luck (re-roll high), Crone's Curse (-1 to phantom), Brutal / Fire arrow (+1 dmg if a damage is scored), Intuition (+1 to lowest roll) and Good Fortune (re-roll low). I have just finished some easy ones; Bully (+2 die if no D) and Deadly (2 sixes is a crit). I will post the full excel spreadsheet pack when I am done.

Hope that helps.

Scott O.
