These 16 cubes are used to indicate how much of a certain resource is available on a space on the board. Cubes are placed on the appropriate resource space. In the replenishment phase, just turn all cubes over the same way. When a new resource space is revealed, put a cube on it with the 0 side up. When someone takes the resources on a space, turn the cube back to 0 and take the appropriate amount of resources from whereever the resources are kept (plano box). When, after three increases, the resources are still not taken, put a single resource token underneath the resource cube and turn the cube to 0 (and keep doing this for every time the cube goes to the max). This visually IDs the resource space as being loaded, and it differentiates this situation from resources left (for instance due to Mushroom Picker, when you would place the left resources next to the resource cube)
