RRT Unincorporated City Variant. V1.1.pdf (39 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Version 1.1 with corrections and clarifications.

Got some extra white, brown and black cubes lying around from upgrading to Animeeples in Agricola? Put them to use in the simple variant designed to increase the action in those boring Grey cities!

I own Railways of the World. Does Railroad Tycoon not already have black cubes? Or is there a noticeable difference between the black boar cubes from Agricola and the black goods cubes from RT?

I haven't actually compared my black cubes from Agricola and ROTW yet.

Yes - of course you are right. There are BLACK cubes in the base game. I'll have to go back and change the chart to another color and then paint the cubes... what about... Orange?

I told you this wasn't playtested! laugh

It's just as well not to use the pigs... two additional colors is plenty.

There are two big problems with your variant as written:
1. The cubes aren't worth enough points. I try to ship 2-3 cubes worth < 4 points per game. Afterwards, almost all shipped cubes equal the capacity of my train. Now you want me to spend lots of money and multiple upgrade actions to ship cubes for less than my train's capacity? Trying to ship the extra cubes is a losing game.

A better idea: play with just the brown and white cubes. Let me buy (for one action and no cost) the ability to buy access to white. Also let me buy (for one action and $10k), the ability to ship brown cubes. Or maybe make up one operations card for each color, and the access to the cubes will be auctioned off.

2. The extra cubes won't help the southwest enough. They will, however, make all those northerm midwestern grey cities much more valuable.
