R&B Mines and Lines.pdf (142 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Substitutes 5 roads for 5 more bridges. Otherwise, this is the same file as the one below.

Can't seem to get the last 2 lines of power line images to save to PDF properly. Probably too little RAM on my PC... :-\

R&B Mines and Lines.pdf (154 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Two pages:

Page #1 - PnP tiles to replace the odd-ball mine cylinders, along with board with holding areas to replace odd-ball baggie storage for mine output.

Page #2 - PnP tiles to replace the odd-ball acetate and marking pen for roads, trains, bridges and electrical lines.

Just print, mount to stiff board, cut out, and enjoy!

Very nice!

As far as the mines, I tend to just shuffle the Gold/Iron, and put them face down on the tile. It seems to work pretty well, as long as you don't bump it too much.

On the roads, thank you. I have been looking for something like that.

I have a feeling though that you would need a LOT more roads. Perhaps you could make a third page of all roads?

Ideally, I would still use the plastic (I use the thick rolled plastic from Walmart that holds itself down.), but I would make the roads on some sort of sticky material. Hmmm. I could glue them to the Walmart plastic and then it should stick to itself. I may need to investigate this!

Oh, and a comment on the road base: You have it green which might blend into the pasture/forest. I am thinking it would be nice to have a grey rocky material for the area outside the road so that it looks like a raised roadbed.

Would it be possible to make bridges that look like a view from above so that they look similar to the roadways? Or is that kind of unnecessary?

Go for it, Sterling! Actually, after using the tiles for a couple of games, I ended up cutting each road in half, so the quantity shouldn't be a problem if you do that.

And I still keep the tiles under the plastic, mainly to keep them from shifting around. But I use a poster frame, rather than the acetate sheet (which never seems to quite lie flat).

You should try the acetate from Walmart, in the fabric section. Make sure you get the extra thick with the orange backing. It stays down really well by itself and rolls up for transport. Highly recommended.

P.S. Any chance I could get the source images. I was thinking of fooling around with the colors in a graphics program.

Very nice indeed, thanks for these. I'll print some out and give it a shot though I ended up cold laminating all my tiles so I could draw directly on them with a wet erase marker.

I play with my tiles on felt to stop the moving around, but you can also use one of those jigsaw puzzle mats to do the same thing. I think they also sell them as craft mats in the teacher supply section.
