Okay Folks,

Having broken so far from the original game with the creation of the new map it became time to declare an independent edition. Available for play on VASSAL now, and on CyberBoard (using the 3rd Edition Map with this new rulebook).

Here is the thread that I will use to provide information on this effort. The primary focus of the 4th Edition is to update and expand the Grand Campaign Game. The scenarios, other than the use of the new map, will remain unchanged.

*UPDATE*

I've spent the year researching Napoleonics, playing the Campaign Game and other scenarios, writing ideas, and gathering. I have two weeks vacation in late December and I plan to push out another version of the rulebook then.

A large part of what I plan to do for this next release is to incorporate all of the official work in to the actual writing of the rules. All of those Q&A entries are opportunities to clear up ambiguities. I'll attempt to address a few other areas that have come up over the years as well. Likely will be a fairly minor update to the VASSAL module as well. Variant countes and Coalition Guards units to be added. Comments, and suggestions are welcome.

John,

I just came upon your efforts with this game. I just want to thank you for this fine work. I'm a little over extended as I have two games on the table and two games going within the computer box. But playing your update of War and Peace will be my next big endeavor. I am very gratified to see this game has a lot of players. Look for me in the Fall and till then all you other players harbor your legions and gird yourselves because I am baking biscuit.
