On what paper size do you print?

I tried on A3 but there was a very large white border section all around the map.

It's shown on a "D" size piece of paper (22"x34") because I had issues with the straight 18"x24" image being cropped on the leading/trailing margin by the printers. This way I could be sure of a good print and just trim away the excess white borders.
