Brought to you by popular demand. Version 2.0 cleans up the wording and format of the previous version, adds 5 new MVP Skills for League Play, rules for Fumbling when Blocked, and deepens the game by introducing turnover when players fail actions.
I finally printed the new rules up, very nice, streamlined, all looks good to me. I just pulled this one out after way to long - what a great dice feast this one is.
The original version just had 11 skills on 2d6, so I guess I forgot to take out the 2 when I added more. Clearly this means I need to add a few new skills.
For now you could just not worry about the 2 result, or have it replace another result you don't care for.
I made some modifications after reading through and playing: - Player with ball can not pile-on (it just doesn't make sense!) - Changed pile-on die rolls to resemble other rules: 1=Crunch!, 2=Foot in the Dangles!, 3-6=Success! - Changed Gun Tower scenario rules to 1=serious injury, 2=injured - Added carnage from sniper using custom-made sniper tokens. A missed sniper shot puts a sniper carnage token on the field that lasts for two turns.
I also found the score table to be a little unbalanced. I'm not yet sure if I'll change it though. In our games, the player that scores takes a HUGE lead because the scoring usually occurs after many of the opponent's pieces have been injured.
These rules look fantastic. Just picked up BB at a thrift the other day for $2.50, and thought the rules seems just a bit simple. I have really been wanting to pick up Blood Bowl, but thought this would keep me happy until I find a cheap copy.
But with these rules...I'm super excited now. Still not to bowl level, but it looks great.
