Done! The file has been uploaded and is awaiting approval.

Update 5/26/10: FYI for those waiting, it's going to be a bit longer wait. The file queue is quite backed up right now, so approval might take another couple weeks.

And yes, momomoto, a Stash label will be in there too.

You'll know its been updated when the filename is Dominion_Labels_v2.pdf.

Not to be too picky, as I love these Labels and I can not wait to use them; but is there any chance you could find a way to include the small icon that depicts which Dominion Version each of these Kingdom cards originate from on the label?

I know it was not hard when there was just Dominion & Intrigue and you played this everyday to keep them straight; but now there are four major groups + 1 minor. This could be very usefull when taking a quick glance at the deck and deciding what to play.

Thank you either way for the work!

What I do is organize the Randomizer (placeholder) cards by expansion (I made labels for that) and use them to pick the Kingdom cards. The Kingdom cards are then organized alphabetically so it's easier to find them. The Randomizer cards have the expansions marked on them, so instead of organizing the Kingdom cards by expansion, you organize the Randomizer cards instead.

As this update is already in the queue, I'm not going to redo anything now, sorry. I'll keep this in mind for a future update.

Okay, it's been approved!

And I see I forgot a banner for the Alchemy expansion, itself, and for Potions (for the Randomizer cards). shake Sorry! Grr, I need a checklist! Especially when I'm doing this for an expansion I don't own.

The update looks great, but there don't seem to be labels for Potion or the Alchemy randomizers.

Okay, I ended up with some extra time and decided to go ahead and do the missing Alchemy Randomizer label, plus one for Promos and Potions too. I added an expansion identifyier icon to the existing Randomizer labels (Dominion, Intrigue and Seaside), and included those again on the second page, so if you've already downloaded this file previously, you'll only have to print the second page to get all the updated stuff. If you're printing this for the first time, then yes, you'll have 3 extra printed labels.

I uploaded the replacement file today and it got approved right away! It's called Dominion_Labels_v2b.pdf and is available for download now.

kjkelley wrote:

I took a look at doing this, and it doesn't work on the existing label size. It's too crowded and often too small to tell what it is; it just ends up looking like a blob. I did add the identifier icons to the Randomizer labels, and that should help a bit.

Finally, a few folks have written to ask what font I used to make these labels. It's OptimusPrincepsSemiBold.

Would is be possible to create the PDF so we could copy the labels out individually like in Jane Engelhardt (TehZii)'s version? I ask because I love the labels but they don't line up correctly for my inkjet printer, so I have to copy and paste them into the word template provided by Avery.

Prosperity cards, please! And if you could put them on a 3rd and separate page so people could print them out without wasting ink on ones they already have, that'd be very frugal of you.

I've been trying to find some Trading Card Dividers (like these ones at BCW Supplies -- http://www.bcwsupplies.com/products/Trading-Card-Accessories...) to use with these labels but haven't had any luck at local stores.

Does anyone have ideas for a DIY version or is simple cardboard the best option?

I used black Euro Style card sleeves. I placed a playing card in them for support, and used self-adhesive tabs from Staples to put the labels into. Not beautiful, but it works.

I put the Randomizer cards in sleeves, and used Post It Durable Tabs. It looked fantastic, and I'll just use the Android app to do my actual randomizing.

Yep.
The excitement of the new expansion is always dampened by the need to buy more sleeves and reorganize it.

Do you have the source images for the banners? What do you use to composite the text on with the nice highlight effect?

I'd love to be able to make my own dividers to supplement your style, or to just be able to rearrange them on the page.

Thank you for the geekgold and the compliment! Yes, I will definitely add a label for Trash in this next set. Apologies for the delay, but the entire family has been out sick with a bad cold these past few weeks. That hasn't left much time to do anything else. Fortunately we're all now on the mend, so time is finally freeing up to do creative things too. Yay!

Cripes! How did that make it through N*X iterations of this file unnoticed?!! Thanks for finding the error!

FYI, I don't own Hinterlands yet, and the last time I tried doing labels for an expansion I didn't own it was a disaster. Soo... Anyone want to buy it for me for Christmas? laugh

Just kidding (though if you really want to... But it will be a bit of a wait before I can get to this. It's a busy time of year, and this is a low priority for me right now... but it's coming eventually. Sorry I can't promise more than that.

I would pick up where you left off if you have the files and don't mind sending them to me. I was just about ready to give up hope and go off the PDF's you have made (or simply start from scratch with some scans). Then I saw your post

But if you have the raw files, it would probably be easier, especially if they are layered in Photoshop/whatever program you use.

Let me know, and thanks for all your work on it so far

I've already had several individuals offer by private email, thanks. I'm afraid it requires more than simply volunteering; it requires a good graphic arts track record first and foremost. When I'm ready to quit updating this, I'll pass the relevant files on to the person I've chosen. Thanks again for the enthusiasm.

I'm one of the folks who offered via private email. I can assure you I didn't volunteer without first being confident I could handle the task!

I made my own labels for Prosperity while waiting for your update by extracting the full DPI images from the PDFs, removing the text from one of each color, and then overlaying the new text. They were quite serviceable, I assure you!

Lol, yea, oh well. I am not sure why there is the assumption that I don't have a graphics art track record. I have done many designs for websites and such. Overlaying banners with text is not something that is "difficult" by any means.

The most difficult part will be removing the text that is already on the banners, and then trying to match the font of the old text. Which is why I was asking about the files.

I get the feeling more that she wants to do it. That is fine, but there is a difference between "not having stuff on BGG" and "not having any graphic design experience".

I'm not assuming anything. I did, however, check out your user profiles and saw that neither of you have file nor image contributions, so there's simply no record whatsoever on the geek of any graphics work for either of you. There's nothing for me to go on!

For the rest of you, Merry Christmas and enjoy the newly uploaded (and approved soon) updated files! kiss

I'm just curious... I've never waited for a file to be approved before... what's the average wait time?

Since I've never known something was going up, I haven't known to check... and I've checked... a lot so far.

You will find the answer here. FWIW, my submissions are currently sitting on page 4 of 8. Looks like it's going to be a while, and no, there's nothing I/we can do about it.

Patience is a virtue.

Thank you very much for all the good work.

I saw there was a new promo: Governor.

I was wondering if you have plans on doing the label for that promo, not right away, but some time after the hollidays.

thanks

Sigh. shake The time to ask for extras is before the labels are submitted and approved! This calls for...

And, what he said:

On page 2 of the Dominion_Labels_v4.pdf file, the labels in the top half of the fourth column are shifted up by about 1/8 inch. It's enough that the tops don't print on the label on my printer. The affected labels start with Mint down through Trade Route.

Thanks

For when the time comes, this is the card information of the "new" promo talked about above:
Governor - 5 cost - Action card

I haven't seen any errors on the Hinterlands set yet, so looking good

Good eye! Thanks for spotting that. It's due to differences between versions of Photoshop, and how they handle table data from another app I'm using with these labels. I use Photoshop for the pdf conversion, and cs2 handled it one way, whereas cs5 does something slightly different. I made adjustments tonight and have submitted a correction (look for version 4b when it's available).

Y'all will be happy to hear I included the Governor promo code too. kiss
