Stockpile Player Sheets.pdf (728 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
After playing several games I found that tracking RP and SRP's on the map were at times difficult to see. I also found that we sometimes forget to reset our SRP's when moving the Hawk/Dove counter. This could prove disastrous in player operations. We decided to employ our mini-poker chips to monitor our current RP's and save SRP's. We found that this worked very well after we employed this system. It took about a turn or two to get used to it.

After we used this system, we made a conclusion that we need to pimp out our game just one more time. This player mat is the result of our idea of tracking these RP's/SRP's.

Example of Chip /Marker use:

GREEN CHIPS for US/Allies
RED CHIP for NVN
BLACK CHIPS for saved SRP's

Once a Action Card is played, we pull the required RP's and grab a single SRP from our stockpile. As we expend each RP on actions, we toss one chip into our bin.

Once we concluded our turn, we exchange any remaining RP's for a black one which indicates SRP's.

Please leave any feedback!

First, this file is graphically outstanding -- great job with the visuals.

I think the names for the boxes are confusing, though, since the technical name for "saved up RPs" is not "Available RPs", but "stockpiled RPs" (SRPs)... and that's what you're calling the "RP Bank".

Granted, "RP Bank" isn't a very evocative name either, but it avoids confusion.

Thanks Dan for your input. I see and agree with your assessment on my wording.

I can change the box classification if it is warranted.

Here are the BOXES and uses for each:

STOCKPILED RP's (Should be SRP's):

Keep all saved SRP's as they accumulate either by non-expenditures and/or receiving SRP's at the start of your turn.

AVAILABLE SRP's:

Each turn you are permitted to use ONE (1) SRP for combat operations (Actions). Slide one (1) down from your Available Stockpiled SRP's to expend this turn. If not spent, return if at the end of your current card play.

If you play a card that permits more SRP's to be used for actions, slide the number from the Available Stockpile box for use on this card play.

ACTION CARD RP's:

Place your current activated card and Resource Points in this box. Use your current RP's as needed. Once you terminate your current combat operations, place any remaining RP's into your Stockpile box (bank) thus becoming SRP's.

I hope this cleared up some of the confusing lingo I used on the cards.

EPP

Edited for a spelling error.

One more item of business, I just received my copy today of this fabulous game. I found that there are 18 Blue/Red extra counters included with the game. If you do not have access to poker chips (or similar), you could use these counters instead.

Just 2 more cents of information.
