The map doesn't seem to be available. I get an error when trying to open the link.

Karim, perhaps you should zip up the map file too. My browser froze up when I opened the map file because it is so large. The file looks fine in OS X Preview once I downloaded it though. Perhaps that is the error Chris had?

I should have been more clear. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the file, except that it's a jpg and most browsers will try to open the file in the browser unless the user does a "save as". It's a 72 megapixel image, which turns out to be more than my computer wanted to handle today (spinning beach ball of death and all).

I uploaded a zipped version of the Jpeg, that is stuck in the queue with the trains, shares, charters, station tokens, and privates files.

I'm looking forward to trying your tile scheme.

It's great to see new design ideas and innovations like this.

But- thanks for not coercing us to try 'that other way' of doing shares, that experiment didn't look so successful.. (The two-sized discs on portfolio cards you pictured, earlier.)

"coercing"
There are alternatives. Two of them even.

"us"
Who is that "us" I'm not a part of?

au contraire, the share tokens work very well. To give you an idea, think of how a stack of poker chips is easier to use than a stack of paper money. The tracking sheet though was almost useless, I admit.
I opted for paper shares because getting a bunch of wooden tokens is expensive.

I added a picture to the gallery, that can be used as a wrapper for a box top. The resolution is print-friendly :

I've just spotted a mistake on the 70 tile. It has an undesired 5th connection between the middle 2 exits.

Question; how are you determining what size to print the jpgs at? I was trying to set things up for printing through Kinko's and ended up having to really outscale the map... if each sheet for charters, tiles, etc, is 8.5x11, the map turns out to be most of six panels at 11x17.

What is your intended size for the components?

Thanks!

All the components are 300 dpi and you should be able to retain that resolution when printing from most dedicated image applications. The map is 31.5" x 25.6", so you might be able to fit on six 11" x 17" sheets depending on the margins.

each board tile is 320x200mm, 8 of them;
(sorry, that's my own file; Scott is right)
the tiles are for 200x270mm sheets
the other sheets are 210x297mm

This works out to about my own size -- each hex is about 1.5" flat-to-flat.

18xx hexes are traditionally 41.5mm from flat-to-flat. A few games, like 18OE and 1831 change this, but they are the rare exceptions.

mine are 40mm flat to flat. (which is OK, BTW, since they're not supposed to be used on anything else than my maps)

Zow. Got the tiles, charters, shares, trains, and privates printed and mounted. Going to pick up the maps from Staples tonight.

These are gorgeous work. I'm glad I decided to lay out the money to do a quality job of building the kit. Very impressed.
