Ciao Andrew !
Today I tried your scenario. This was my first playtest of 'The Merville battery' in solitaire. I had the Brits vs the german AI. Well this is the first time I had easy victory vs. AI . I killed all the german section at the end of turn 5.
Maybe I had a lot of luck but I'll try again but with the German vs. Brits AI .. even if your rule about the minefields will be not complete for the AI..

Second game:
This time I had the Germans vs the AI. As the previous game, Brits won at the end of 5th turn. They are too strong ..on the other hand .. I had to fight against the Paratroopers !
In this scenario ... I think you cannot change the historic events shake
..
Now I have to test in the FtF mode ...
