Nice work, but how did you manage to sneak this past the file admin after all the uproar over the player score sheets images that were removed from the image gallery?
I was totally unaware of the uproar... I stumbled upon My Word a few days ago, played it online, thought it was a fantastic game, downloaded the existing homemade sheet from 2005, and thought I could do better.
I'm not sure about the legal technicalities here. This is not a scan of the original My Word score sheet, thus in that sense it is not a copyright violation. It does however have the phrase "My Word!" on it, which may violate a trademark or something. Legally, I don't think there's a problem with posting a generic play sheet that lets you play a game that feels an awfully lot like that My Word! game from the 70s, or even the soon-to-be republished version from 2010.
With that said, if FRED wants it taken down to protect their profits, by all means let BGG take it down. I'll continue to play from my own private copies, and maybe even buy their version in order to have a proper edition I can put on my game shelf.
Final note: I have to wonder about the profitability in the internet era of publishing a game whose components amount to a glorified piece of graph paper. However, I wish them much success.
Re: Profitability. Yes, in spite of its excellence as a game, from a business standpoint, it does indeed seem an odd title to pick up for republishing. But this game does deserve more acclaim, so I too wish FRED well with it.
