ASL ... yes, this is my Desert Island Game. If I have to give up all my 3000+ games and only allowed to keep one, this would be it. This bloody game stood the test of time. Around for more than 25 years - simply the best.

New rules for city upgrades. Instead of 'anything goes', there are now logical rules and sequences of what is allowed and what not. Usable for all units and all expansion sets.

This is a really SMART variant. It makes the city upgrades more intuitive. Tip: Concentrate on the graphics used n this variant, not the tile numbers. There is a bit of confusion around what tile numbers Francis tresham uses vs. what 18xx resource site use.

There sure are some confusing numbers in various games and tile directories, but, as Kevin pointed out to me, I made a definite error while typing in 7.2.3. while referring to tile #15. This is definitely tile #115 (yellow tile, large station with only one piece of track exiting from it).
