Neri Dune Board 19x19 mz edits.jpg (6.46 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
3rd version of this file
(Corrected a typo on Habbanya Erg. Sorry about that, folks. Thanks to Whizkid for catching that.)

Francesco Neri had posted a version of the Dune board that was a visual feast. http://boardgamegeek.com/image/495528/dune

Unfortunately, it contained a large number of typos and Rim Wall West was mistakenly shown as desert territory.

With my wife's help - we've proofed the map and fixed everything we could find. (Including the Arrakeen typo and the Habbanya Erg one contained in my original upload)

The overall design is what carries the day for me. Neri's choice to have the territory labels face outward (rather than towards a single player) reminds me of Avalon Hill's Diplomacy boards. Egalitarian, and attractive.

The choice to make like territories appear the same makes this a more usable board than the original. If a design similar to Neri's board had shipped with the original game - you wouldn't have people asking questions like "What's rock - what's not?"

Neri had posted links to corrections, but none of them seemed to be functional.

All props to Neri for the design - I just tuned it up for my use and figured I'd share.

Happy gaming.

I feel like Syssipus, forever rolling the Dune board uphill to the print shop...

Joel K,

Yep - My wife caught that after I uploaded.

Also, in the original version - Habbanya was misspelled.

I posted a corrected file as an image at:
http://boardgamegeek.com/image/730424/dune

Edit June 02, 2010: Just found out I could replace the original version with a corrected version. I've uploaded a corrected file to this page - when it shows a file date of other than May 21 - the file has been corrected.

Could I ask what the two fonts you used are?

Edit: Nevermind, I see you were asked that question recently on the picture page

EDIT EDIT: Forgot to say: awesome job!

Misspellings are kind of a trend with Dune products. blush

...and mighty frustrating.

My apologies to those who printed my version. There was a typo on Habbanya Erg. Thanks, Whizkid, for finding that.

I've uploaded a corrected version to this page.

When the file date shows something other than June 2, 2010, the file will have been corrected.
