Island Deck_Card Backs.pdf (714 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This file contains Card backs for the new Island Deck. My assumption is that most people will just print out the front of the cards and use card protectors, but here are card backs for those who want them.

Savage Tide_Rules.v1.1.reduced.pdf (481 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This is the rules document for the new Savage Tide adventure variant. The artwork in this file was originally published by Wizards of the Coast and Paizo Publishing. This is version 1.1 of the rules. The images in the file have been "reduced" in image quality as the file was rather large.

Savage Tide_map add-on.pdf (1.30 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
As the new endgame includes a new city on Island of Dread, along with a new Island Deck of cards, this map add-on replaces the original map add-on that came with the expansion.

Savage Tide_Crimson Fleet_reference card.pdf (4.04 MB) (Log in or Register to download.)
The new sailing rules include a story chart similar to that used in the Sands of Al-Kalim expansion. One of the story events is an encounter with the Crimson Fleet, lesser pirates who have allied with the followers of the Mad God. This file include reference cards for all the players since this is a pretty common encounter at sea.

Savage Tide_Shadow Pearls.pdf (607 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
This is the first of several files for a new adventure variant for the Isle of Dread Runebound expansion. This variant is based on the D&D Savage Tide campaign published in Dungeon Magazine. It provides more detailed rules for sailing and greatly expands the endgame to make for a more satisfying conclusion to the game. This first file is a new type of treasure which can be acquired by defeating silver level challenges during the game. This is version 1.0 of the rules.

I'm still working on finishing the new Island Deck needed for this expansion, but I'm hoping to have it done shortly. In the meantime you can still use this expansion by simply treating the Isle of Dread's red adventure deck as the Island Deck. If you notice any mistakes, typos or need for rules clarification, please let me know.

Thanks,

Judd

Its come to my attention that the rules are not entirely clear about what happens to a hero on the turn they arrive on the Island of Dread. As such, let me clarify:

On the turn a hero travels to the Isle of Dread, they end their move on the city of Farport, and roll on the story chart, shop, heal, ect. as normal. This essentially represents their ship arriving at the port. On the first turn they leave the city, their sea captain will be discarded into the city of Farshare's market stack as normal since he will not accompany the hero into the dangerous jungle.

A hero also does not need to hire a sea captain to leave the Isle of Dread, they simply need to roll the appropriate story event while spending their turn on Farshore. This represents the fact that their are semi-regular ships heading back to the civilized world loaded with cargo.

That said, a hero can also choose to hire a sea captain while in Farshore, in the same manner as normal. The hero can then spend their next turn's movement traveling to any other city on the main map. When they arrive at this city they will roll on the story chart, and then can shop or heal as they see fit.

The same is essentially true for a player who moves multiple sea spaces in a turn via the new sailing chart, thus ending their move in a city space. Once they resolve their last sea travel story icon, they must roll on the city story chart, then shop or heal as they choose.

I'll be clarifying these rules in the next draft of the rules which should be compiled over the next weekend. And if people have any further questions about the rules, please let me know.

Thanks,

Judd

This looks awesome!

I have not played Isle of Dread yet but will be doing so very soon. Will play it first as written out of the box, then play it with your variant. Will let you know how it goes.

On an intial read through the cards though, deck 1 Infernal T-Rex says Mad Gold's....

Fantastic Effort and inspiring.cool

Thanks for compliments and please let me know what feedback you may have after giving the rules a play. I've already garnered some good feedback over the last few months and will likely be doing a big "update" of the cards and rules sometime this winter. At that time I'll be cleaning up typos, and "hopefully" balancing out some things as well.

Have fun

Judd
