This is really amazing.
- Did you design the die lines?
- What application did you do this in?
- I can see that the ends tuck into the 1/2 sides. Neat
- I dont really like the squished logo on the long sides and ends - A cardinal rule of graphic design is dont mess with the logo - ever!

I will have to try to make one of these to bring to the World Boardgaming Championships next week.

Thanks! Coming from the art director himself that means a lot.

I did the whole design from scratch in MS PowerPoint 2003 using basic auto shapes with a little help from Gimp to tweak the graphics.

The initial idea was to have the lid and bottom connect at one of the short ends, but I didn't manage to fit it all on one A4 page without having to separate the lid from the bottom and then glue them together. When I moved the pieces around to make them all fit it suddenly hit me like a slap on the forehead: why not just connect them on the long side. And I think it worked pretty well.

I agree. That is one of the two main issues I have with the design.
The other being that the lid won't lock properly to the bottom so I had to use a rubber band.

If I find the time I'll try to fix the logos and come up with a more functional locking mechanic.

Great! I've found that printing it on label paper and attaching it to 250gr paper before cutting works well.

Good luck with the assembly and thanks for the !
