Revised version of Turn Summary that now has references to the rulebook. Thanks for the feedback.

I believe that my "Turn Summary" is better organized than the "Sequence of Play" from the official rules and/or player aid card.

Well done and helpful. A couple of points and suggestions:

- Starting Setup states, "Neutral Units = 32-47 Units", but they start with 47 each game

- 3.2), 4.1), 6) and 7.2) and 7.3) lists "Hapsburg" instead of "Habsburg"

- The example under 6)2) is rather confusing

- Under 7.3), you've mentioned that Burgher control of Koln or Leuven in Turn 0 is "impossible to accomplish in a 5-player game". I haven't looked at it exhaustively, but is it even possible to happen in a game with fewer players?

- The FACTION OBJECTIVES should list the Habsburg objective as either "1 VP per Command Block with an Army" or "1 VP per Region with an Army" to be clearer.

- You've renumbered the phases, but don't add references to the rule numbers. I suspect that when someone goes to look up the rule for greater detail than the summary provides, this will be confusing. I think rule references would be quite helpful.

Steve,

-Thanks for the suggestions. I will fix the Habsburg spelling mistakes and I'll change command "box" to command "block."

-On page 14 of the rulebook, under rule 6.13 Overflow there is a Design Note that allows players to reduce the number of Neutral units if so desired. However, the number of Neutral units available should not be less than those available to the factions whenever possible. So in a 5-player game players may choose to play with 32-47 Neutrals, in a 2-player or 4-player game 40-47 Neutrals, and no less than 47 Neutrals in a 3-player game.

-The example under 6)2) is correct, but I can see how it is rather confusing. Perhaps I should just refer to the rulebook for clarifications on Allegiance of Citizens.

-On page 9 of the rulebook, under rule 5.7 Assignment the Burghers can reform the Catholic Universities during turn 0. This is only possible if certain factions are not in play. For example, in a 3-player game if the Habsburgs are not used, a Burgher unit may overflow from Zeeland into Brabant using river movement and claim the town of Leuven. The Burgher player would need to use Units from the Support box in order to exceed the province limit for Zeeland.

-The numbering for my rules summary is different than the rulebook. The rulebook has everything for Turn 0 as 5.0 - 5.8 and Turns 1-5 as 6.0 - 6.20, which I find rather annoying. I much prefer my numbering system that actually matches my Turn Summary, whereas the rulebook has 4.2.1 Opening Game Turn without any number references. However, I will also include the numbering of the rulebook so players are able to reference the actual rules.

I'm new at this game, so forgive me if this question is too elementary:

In your notation for the Huguenot Support Box, you have the Huguenot unit which intercepted the Spanish Treasury money getting "flipped over for the remainder of the turn."

I see nothing in the rules to suggest this, nor do I understand the point of doing it. What's your source for Huguenot flipping?

It is in the updated rulebook clarifying/modifying the interception mechanic. The piece in the Support Box gets flipped for the remainder of the turn - it can not be moved from the Support Box or count for New Units until the following turn.

Now it makes sense! The Huguenots can either intercept Spanish gold OR move to the game board, but not both in the same turn. And if they intercept, you don't get a new unit later in the turn because they're still sitting there in the Support Box. Flipping the counter simply reminds you that they intercepted gold earlier in the turn, and won't give you a new unit later...

Working through the rules of this game is a challenge when you're the first gamer in your group to get the game, but the more I work through them the more excited I'm getting about trying this baby out. I can already see its potential as an addictive game...
