Change 1: Don't lay out all 5 bonus tiles on the player sequence track, but only three of them (on positions 1,2,3), drawn randomly each season.
Change 2: Use only 3 out of the 5 regions. To keep the balance, add certain sea (and land) connections. Mark them by using cubes of an unused color. Ignore provinces that are out of play (and the sea connections to them).
Sun map: use the regions containing Izumo (bright green), Omi (salmon) and Iyo (violet). Connect: Tajima and Echizen Shima and Mikawa
Moon map: Use the the regions containing Izumo (bright green), Omi (salmon) and Etchu (dark brown). Connect (sea): Sanuki and Harima Sanuki and Aki Noto and Echigo Noto and Wakasa Connect (land): Kai and Shimotsuke Omi and Mikawa
Use the same initial troop sizes and gold (18) as in a 3 player game.
