MBT_-_Pzkw-VIII-Maus_Data_Card_v1.0.xls (39 KB) (Log in or Register to download.)
Weighing in at 200 tons, the German Maus is the heaviest tank ever constructed (at least that I know of). Here's the Wikipedia link ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panzer_VIII_Maus). I was curious how the legendary tank would actually stack up against modern weapons...and the answer turns out to be quite poorly. Once shaped charges became more commonplace, the heavy tanks went the way of the dodo and you'll quickly see why (even the basic RPG-7 from IDF can destroy the Maus from any angle on level ground). Still, it could be fun for alternate history/etc scenarios so I thought I'd upload it. In case you're curious, I pulled performance data for the German guns from this website ( http://www.freeweb.hu/gva/weapons/introduction.html), which sadly only appears to have WW2 vintage weapons. Enjoy.
